How to Make a Temporary Tooth at Home – Step-by-Step DIY Guide

How to Make a Temporary Tooth at Home – Step-by-Step DIY Guide - DIY Denture Shop LLC ™

Missing a tooth can be frustrating — especially when you’re waiting for an appointment, dealing with high dental costs, or just want to feel confident again. That’s why so many people are using DIY denture kits to craft a quick, affordable temporary tooth right at home.

Here’s how our kit works, step-by-step:

Step 1: Soften the Pink Gum Material

Place the pink strips (gum base) in a bowl of hot water until they become soft and flexible. Once they’re pliable, remove and lightly pat them dry. Now you’re ready to shape.

Step 2: Insert the Acrylic Teeth

Take the acrylic teeth (we include Medium/Size 23 unless you choose another size) and gently press them into the softened pink material. Line them up in the natural order that matches your own smile.

Step 3: Shape the Fit

Place the softened material with teeth inside your mouth to shape the fit. Press gently against your gums or roof of mouth, then remove and let it cool on a flat surface. It will fully harden in about 20 minutes.

Tip: Place it in cold water to speed up the hardening process!

Step 4: Make Adjustments if Needed

If you want to tweak the shape or comfort, place the finished denture in hot water for 10–15 seconds. The outer layer will soften so you can easily reshape.
